Velden Electrical Limited (part of the Odyssey Ecosystem) operates the Velden Electrical service and website at velden.co.nz. We are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

- Name, email address, phone number (via booking forms, contact forms, membership applications)
- Property address and suburb (for service delivery and zone assignment)
- Property type and service requirements
- Membership tier preference
- Referral codes

- Website usage data (pages visited, time on site, referral source)
- Device and browser information
- IP address
Information generated through our service:
- Job records (work performed, dates, financial details)
- Before and after photographs of electrical work
- Property Electrical Profiles
- Compliance documentation
- Invoice and payment records
- Credit and referral transaction history
3. How we use your information
We use your personal information to:
- Provide and deliver electrical services
- Schedule and manage bookings and jobs
- Communicate with you about your service (confirmations, reminders, updates)
- Process membership applications and manage membership benefits
- Generate invoices and process payments
- Create and maintain Property Electrical Profiles
- Manage the referral and credit programme
- Improve our services and website
- Send relevant service reminders (such as maintenance due dates)

4. Information sharing
We share your information only as necessary to deliver our services:
- Zone technicians: Your name, address, phone number, and job details are shared with the assigned electrician to perform the work
- Payment processors: Payment information is processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your full credit card details
- Odyssey Ecosystem: Limited operational data may be shared within the Odyssey Ecosystem for service coordination
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not share your data with advertisers.
5. Data storage and security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database platform with enterprise-grade security. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to personal data is restricted through role-based access controls.
Photographs taken during jobs are stored securely and are accessible only to you (the client), the assigned technician, and Velden Electrical administration.
6. Your rights
Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Correction: Request that we correct any inaccurate information
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data (subject to our legal retention obligations)
To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@velden.co.nz. We will respond within 20 working days as required by law.
7. Data retention
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services and meet our legal obligations:
- Client records and job history: 7 years (tax and compliance requirements)
- Electrical compliance documentation: 7 years
- Contact form submissions: 2 years
- Website analytics data: 26 months
8. Cookies
Our website uses essential cookies for authentication and site functionality. We use Vercel Analytics for basic website performance metrics. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising purposes.
9. Marketing communications
We may send you service-related communications (booking confirmations, job updates, maintenance reminders) as part of our service delivery. These are not marketing communications and do not require separate consent.
Marketing emails (membership offers, promotions, referral programmes) are sent only with your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email or by contacting us.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered clients. The latest version will always be available at velden.co.nz/privacy.
